What are dental implants?
A dental implant is a titanium metal rod which is placed into the jawbone. It is used to support one or more false teeth. In practice, both the false teeth and their supporting rod are known as ‘implants’. It provides stable support for one or more artificial teeth. Dentures and bridges supported by implants won’t slip in your mouth, which is an important benefit when eating and speaking. This secure fit helps the dentures and the bridges feel more natural than conventional bridges and dentures.

Benefits of Dental Implants?
Frequently Asked Question
Placing the implants requires a small operation. This can be carried out under local anaesthetic with sedation or with a general anaesthetic. You will not feel any pain at the time, but you may feel some discomfort during the week following the surgery. This is usually due to having stitches in place, and the normal healing process.
Our patients are astonished how little pain is entailed by implantation. Our dental surgeons with many-year experience perform implantation’s.
When you get implants, more than one dental professional may treat you. The implants will be placed by our oral surgeons. A prosthodontist will make your crowns, bridges or dentures, which will look like natural teeth. The surgeon will coordinate your treatment with your prosthodontist to decide what implants to use, how many implants you need and where they should be placed.
It depends on the state of the bone in your jaw. At Dental Team Turkey we will arrange for a number of special tests to assess the amount of bone still there.
Yes. You can have any number of teeth replaced with implants – from one single tooth to a complete set.
Our dentists will give you instructions on how to look after your implant. They may give you some painkillers after the surgery – or check whether you have them at home – to take over the next few days if you need them.
If a patient is getting one or more dental implants placed, there must be a sufficient amount of bone in which to place the implants for the treatment to be successful and long-lasting. Bone grafting and sinus lift procedures are sometimes used to prepare the patient’s jaw to receive implants.
Our Dental Professionals at Dental Team Turkey take care of all bone grafting and sinus lift procedures in our private VIP clinics.

IN THE FIRST STAGE DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT
Implants are placed in the jaw and five days after the stitches are removed. (You need to be in town for 5-7 days) You will go on a course of antibiotics and painkiller. The discomfort is comparable to removal of a few teeth. After placing the implants a healing period of minimum 3 to 6 months are required before we do the second stage. You can delay this for one year. During this time you will wear a temporary denture or temporary crowns and bridges so that you will not walk around without any teeth.
SECOND STAGE DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT
After the healing period of 3 to 6 months, the implants are exposed and artificial teeth are Fabricated and attached on to the implants.
